ransparent : having the property of transmitting rays of light through its substance so that what is situated beyond or behind can be distinctly seen; admitting the passage of light;so sheer as to permit light to pass through; easily seen through, recognized, or detected – manifest; obvious. My husband uses this word a lot, and lives his life in a manner that others know he’s real. In Christianity it’s important to be transparent, because we are representatives of another “substance”. Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” The Greek translation says that faith is the “title deed”. As we walk out our faith we need to be real enough to display our lives with transparency, so that others can find their way to Jesus. We are simply the conduit that joins others together with their power source. But the definition here says “so that what is situated beyond or behind can be DISTINCTLY seen. Without transparency, we cloud the picture and impede rather than becoming a conductor of light.
